About this studio
Mantle Thermal Haus is a small indoor-outdoor contrast spot on Curtis Ave in East Austin. You check in through a lobby with drinks and apothecary goods, change in one of two shower rooms, then head outside to two cedar barrel saunas (six people each) and three two-person cold plunges. In my opinion it is the most straightforward sauna and plunge hour on the east side, with red light and massage as extras rather than the point.
A one hour drop-in is $35 and a 10 Pack is $275, which puts it right next to the cøntrast Garden on price. Memberships run $100 a month for four visits up to $250 for unlimited. Bring a swimsuit, and note the short Monday hours (7am to 11am).
- Two separate 6-person cedar barrel saunas in the outdoor space
- Three separate 2-person stainless steel cold plunges
- One hour sessions; check in at the lobby, then change and rinse in one of two shower rooms
- Red light lounge with full-body red light blankets and massage on the indoor side

Common questions
Is Mantle Thermal Haus communal or private?
Communal. The outdoor area has two 6-person cedar barrel saunas and three 2-person cold plunges, so you share the space with other guests.
How much does a session cost?
A one hour sauna and cold plunge drop-in is $35 and a 10 Pack is $275 on our 2026-10-06 check. Memberships run from $100/mo (4 sessions) to $250/mo unlimited, with a $600/mo Inner Core tier that adds massage, yoga, and IV. Confirm live Pricing before you book.
What are the hours?
Monday 7am to 11am, Tuesday through Saturday 9am to 7pm, Sunday 10am to 5pm on our last check. Reconfirm on the operator site before you go.
Mantle Thermal Haus or cøntrast?
Both are East Austin communal outdoor sauna and plunge setups at a similar drop-in price. Mantle has two larger barrel saunas and three plunges on Curtis Ave. cøntrast on MLK adds a private infrared suite when you want a locked door.
Is Mantle Thermal Haus on ClassPass?
Unknown on our last check. Book on mantlethermal.com unless ClassPass shows live inventory.
Thinking about home?
Unlimited here is about $100 a month, or about $1,200 a year. A hard-shell plunge with a chiller runs about $4,990 to $7,990, so daily use pays it back in roughly 4.2 to 6.7 years. Plunge less than a few times a week and the membership usually wins. Compare home cold plunges or home saunas.
