## Overview

Bywater Sauna parks wood fired barrel saunas by Puget Sound and Lake Washington for class style sessions. Weekday sessions publish around $35 and weekends around $40 for 60 to 75 minutes. Alki and Golden Gardens are the main sites; Old Stove in Ballard runs seasonally; Leschi was marked currently closed on our last check. Open water is the cold side, not a filtered tub. Bring a towel and book a specific session online. Always say Alki Beach / Golden Gardens in public copy so beach geo stays Seattle-clear.

## What to expect

- Wood fired barrel sauna next to open water
- Self paced hot/cold cycling during a timed group session
- Communal outdoor format with limited spots per session
- Public bathhouse rinse showers nearby, not private studio showers

## Practical notes

- Bring your own towel; sitting on a towel inside the barrel is required
- Book the exact site and time; waitlists are first come if a session fills
- ClassPass not listed on our last check; book direct

## Questions

### Is the cold side a plunge tub?

No. Bywater uses open water (or cool air) next to the barrel. Know the site rules and your limits before you book.

### Do I need a membership?

No. Drop-in session bookings are the usual entry; memberships are optional for regulars.

### Is Bywater Sauna communal or private?

Bywater Sauna runs a communal, shared format in Alki Beach, with wood fired barrel sauna on the heat side and open water cold plunge on the cold side. That was the format on our last operator check, so confirm on the studio site before booking.
